What are Web Folders?

Web Folders allow you to get to many network files, via the Internet, using a web browser.
Access to this service is available from the Windows2000, WindowsXP and Max OSX platforms only.
Mac users should follow the Mac directions below to install and use Goliath to access files over the web.

Windows

  • When prompted, enter your Academy username, password, and the domain name master. If there is not a separate line for "domain" enter your username in the format master\username.
  • You can create a shortcut to your folder for easy access in the future (directions).

 

General Access Folders

Access Limited to Group Members

LionsDen - student home directories
(select the folder with your class year;
then select the folder with your username)

Student Server - for webmasters of the Student server only

Employee Home Folders-faculty and staff Home folders

Harkness -faculty department folders
For your work folder:
- select the folder for your department
- select the folder with your username
- select the folder named work

Conferences - for leaders and participants of summer conferences only

Administrative - Administrative department folders

Dropboxes

Committee
MergeData/MergeDocs

Clubs - for Club staff only

Department Websites - faculty webmasters
For your website files:
- select the folder for your department
- select the folder named wwwroot

- select the folder with your username

 

Creating a Shortcut on Windows

Macs

Please download the Goliath client and review the available documentation. (back to top)
Click on link for Mac OSX to start the download
Minimize the Goliath web windows
Open Applications windows and drag the Goliath folder to the Applications folder.
Open Goliath
Select File, New Connection, and enter the appropriate URL (for example, https://webfolders.exeter.edu/harkness or /lionsden)
Login with your Academy username and password
